Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

Monte Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-29 loss at the hands of the Valhalla Norsemen. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Norsemen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.

Valhalla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chanel Akka out in front who went 10 of 20 on her way to 22 points along with seven boards and six steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Miles, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists.

Monte Vista's record is now 2-17. As for Valhalla, their victory bumped their record up to 2-12.

Monte Vista and Mission Vista will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Valhalla, they will head out on the road to take on El Cajon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Cajon Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
