Football Recap: Ottawa Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Ottawa hadn't done well against Tonganoxie recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cyclones secured a 14-10 W over the Chieftains. This was payback for the Cyclones, who suffered a 38-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Tonganoxie still got an impressive performance from Bodee Maslak, who threw for 133 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 56 yards on only seven carries. A healthy portion of Maslak's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Jacob Morenz.

Ottawa's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.2 points on average over those games. As for Tonganoxie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

As of now, neither Ottawa nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
