Soccer Game Preview: Alexander vs. Kennesaw Mountain

For the first time this season, Alexander will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. Kennesaw Mountain took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Alexander, who comes in off a win.

Kennesaw Mountain better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Alexander really gets things going. Alexander never let Douglas County get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Kennesaw Mountain came up short against North Cobb on Friday and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexander pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matchups. As for Kennesaw Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Alexander suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Kennesaw Mountain in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can Alexander avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
