Basketball Recap: Neuwirth Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Neuwirth Leadership Academy and Animo Watts squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Neuwirth Leadership Academy had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Animo Watts Warriors, falling 50-19. The Boxers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-1.

Caitlin Rosales was a one-woman wrecking crew for Animo Watts as she dropped a double-double with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Rosales' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Yani Hicks also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Neuwirth Leadership Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Animo Watts and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

Neuwirth Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Animo Watts, they will head out on the road to square off against WISH Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (WISH Academy: 24.8, Animo Watts: 25.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
