Basketball Recap: Payton Siquig Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Willits

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kennedy had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-37 victory over the Willits Wolverines. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Kennedy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Siquig, who posted 22 points along with eight boards and four steals. Izabella Velazquez was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven assists and seven steals.

Kennedy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Kennedy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-13. As for Willits, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-5.

Coming up, Kennedy will challenge St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kennedy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Willits does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
