Baseball Recap: Deering Rams vs. South Portland Red Riots
After flying high against Westbrook on Tuesday, Deering came back down to earth. The Rams lost 8-0 to the South Portland Red Riots on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Deering saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Profenno, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Profenno has hit this season.
Deering's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for South Portland, they pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
