Football Recap: Southwest Legacy Victorious

Southwest Legacy is still undefeated this season after their match against Jay on Thursday, but Jay came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Titans came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 17-16 W against the Mustangs. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Titans were the better team in the second half.

The critical scores for Southwest Legacy came from Aiden Garcia and James Ross. Garcia also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

One reason for the win was Southwest Legacy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Henry Hernandez and Eli Sanchez, who racked up four sacks between them. Hernandez is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Southwest Legacy got some further help from Jordan Wilson: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 17 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Jay lost, don't look at Brennan Oliver. Despite the final result, he rushed for 101 yards and one score.

Southwest Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Jay, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
