Baseball Recap: Pinecrest Academy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Pinecrest Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Horizon Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Paladins blew past the Warriors 12-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Paladins, who have now won ten contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Pinecrest Academy got a massive performance out of Matthew Mitchell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mateo Snyder, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Pinecrest Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Horizon Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .150.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Pinecrest Academy, bringing their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Horizon Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Pinecrest Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
