Baseball Recap: Banneker Comes Up Short

Banneker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Morrow Mustangs.

Jayce Linsey and Anthony Lightfoot stepped up to the plate in a big way. Linsey scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Lightfoot scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Lightfoot has posted since back in March of 2024.

Banneker's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Morrow, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

While Banneker had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
