Volleyball Recap: West Rusk's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but West Rusk unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Beckville Bearcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Friday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, West Rusk sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 16-25, 25-23.

Hannah Haffner paced West Rusk's offense, picking up ten kills. Haffner got some help from Kimora Pryor and her 23 assists. Finally, Kamyah Lacy kept West Rusk's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

West Rusk's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Beckville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Looking ahead, West Rusk will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Garrison at 5:30 p.m. As for Beckville, they will venture away from home to challenge Kilgore at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
