Soccer Game Preview: Orange Cove vs. Sanger West

The Orange Cove Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Sanger West Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange Cove will be strutting in after a win while Sanger West will be coming in after a loss.

Orange Cove is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They had just enough and edged Parlier out 3-2 on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

They hit Parlier with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gabriela Sanchez, Marlen Diaz, and Isabella Ellorin.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sanger West's offense. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Dinuba an easy 5-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 645th, while the Emperors are ranked 209th).

Orange Cove's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Sanger West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Orange Cove came up short against Sanger West when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Orange Cove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
