Softball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-0 to the Iowa City Little Hawks. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Little Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in July of 2024.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Iowa City, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion will challenge Clear Creek-Amana at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Clippers' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Iowa City, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Cedar Falls.
