Softball Game Preview: El Reno Indians vs. Enid Plainsmen

The El Reno Indians will challenge the Enid Plainsmen at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Enid took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on El Reno, who comes in off a win.

El Reno came out on top against Clinton on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Indians took their matchup against the Red Tornadoes 7-3. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Red Tornadoes recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Zoey Pawnee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Maddy Brinkman and Brailynn Vickery did most of the damage at the plate: Brinkman got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Vickery went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Brinkman a new career-high in hits (two). Izzy Birdsong was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Enid faced Choctaw in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Plainsmen came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 12-0. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Plainsmen who fell 2-0 when the teams previously met back in October of 2024.

Enid's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for El Reno, their victory bumped their record up to 10-15.
