Soccer Game Preview: Merced vs. El Capitan

Merced is 1-8-1 against El Capitan since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Merced Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the El Capitan Gauchos at 5:15 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for Merced's offense. They lost 4-0 to Buhach Colony on Friday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, on FridayLos Banos kept up with El Capitan until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. El Capitan never let Los Banos onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Gauchos have won four matches by more than three goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

El Capitan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Merced, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
