Basketball Game Preview: Hayward Farmers vs. Arroyo Dons

The Hayward Farmers will head out on the road to square off against the Arroyo Dons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hayward is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Hayward came up short against Berkeley and fell 45-36.

Meanwhile, Arroyo lost to Encinal on the road by a 70-53 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Dons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 802nd, while the Jets are ranked 373rd).

Arroyo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Hayward, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Hayward couldn't quite finish off Arroyo in their previous matchup back in January and fell 37-34. Can Hayward avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
