Basketball Recap: Grand Terrace Skates Past Arroyo Valley with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Summit, Grand Terrace was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Arroyo Valley Hawks 56-16. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Grand Terrace can attribute much of their success to Jayleen Barajas, who went 7 for 8 on her way to 17 points. Kayla Duran was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Grand Terrace was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Grand Terrace picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 11-6. As for Arroyo Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Terrace will square off against San Gorgonio at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grand Terrace has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Arroyo Valley, they will challenge Jurupa Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
