Softball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greeley Central on Saturday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Mountain Lions came up short against the Berthoud Spartans on Monday, falling 18-1. The Mountain Lions have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Flores, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-17-1. As for Berthoud, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Mountain View will face off against Timnath at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cubs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.62 runs per game on average), something the Mountain Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Berthoud, they will take on Severance at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Silver Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
