Football Recap: Hoisington Finds Playoff Glory Versus Garden Plain + How To Watch

Hoisington extended their postseason success on Friday against Garden Plain. They blew past the Owls, posting a 34-7 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Mason Martin had a dynamite game, rushing for 42 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes. Taylen Morales was another key player, rushing for 93 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hoisington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 217 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Hoisington's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points over those games. As for Garden Plain, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-2 record.

Coming up, Hoisington is taking a road trip to face off against Southeast of Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cardinals 10.8, the Trojans 9.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Garden Plain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
