Basketball Game Preview: Westmont Warriors vs. Santa Teresa Saints

The Westmont Warriors will square off against the Santa Teresa Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westmont has six straight wins, Santa Teresa has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Westmont beats Santa Teresa with 47 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Westmont strolled past Piedmont Hills with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 47-32.

Meanwhile, Santa Teresa came up short against Leigh on Tuesday and fell 66-57. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Saints came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Longhorns are ranked 743rd).

Santa Teresa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Westmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Westmont didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Santa Teresa in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 28-24 victory. Will Westmont repeat their success, or does Santa Teresa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
