Softball Recap: Ballard Takes a Loss

Ballard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 10-2 to the Carlisle Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-0 loss back in June.

Ballard's defeat dropped their record down to 6-23. As for Carlisle, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Ballard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Norwalk on the 3rd. As for Carlisle, they will challenge North Polk at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.1, the Comets 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
