Football Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short at Home Against Central + How To Watch

Northwestern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 38-6 loss at the hands of the Central Falcons. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Deangelo Bryant was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 40 yards and one TD, and also threw for 115 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (129).

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Suitland at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central, they will venture away from home to challenge Lewis at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
