Basketball Game Preview: Quarry Lane Cougars vs. Stockton Christian Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Quarry Lane Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Stockton Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Quarry Lane's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Stockton Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Quarry Lane ended up a good deal behind Averroes and lost 27-12. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcon 7-2 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Quarry Lane saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Arsanjani posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Stockton Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-41 to Lodi Academy.

Quarry Lane will need to focus on slowing down Kayla Sanchez, one of several Stockton Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She earned 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jami Araya, who scored 14 points.

Stockton Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Quarry Lane, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 10-9.

Quarry Lane strolled past Stockton Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Quarry Lane since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
