Recap: Baldwin Bears vs. Renaissance Academy Knights
The Baldwin Bears 's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 38-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Renaissance Academy.
Renaissance Academy found their leader in underclassman Saydi Daye, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Kasira Barber was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven blocks and five rebounds.
Baldwin dropped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Renaissance Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baldwin won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Agnes Irwin at 4:00 p.m. on January 30th. Agnes Irwin and Baldwin are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Renaissance Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bristol at 6:00 p.m.
