Soccer Game Preview: Harvard-Westlake vs. Louisville

The Harvard-Westlake Wolverines will face off against the Louisville Royals at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Harvard-Westlake has four straight victories, Louisville has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Harvard-Westlake's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Marymount. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Sailors are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Louisville fell victim to Notre Dame (SO) and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Knights.

Harvard-Westlake's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six contests. As for Louisville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
