Soccer Game Preview: Dougherty Valley vs. Granada

The Dougherty Valley Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Granada Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Dougherty Valley turned things around against Livermore on Tuesday. They beat the Cowboys by a goal, winning 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Wildcats were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Granada and California finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Granada's goal came courtesy of Elle Eichenberger, who's now up to seven this season.

Dougherty Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-5. Granada's draw gives them a new season record of 6-1-6.

Dougherty Valley suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Granada when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Dougherty Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
