Preview: Houston Hurricanes vs. Kingsland Knights

Houston has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Kingsland Knights at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Houston faced Southland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Houston managed a 24-20 victory over Southland.

Houston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aden Kulas out in front who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Zach Olson was another key contributor, rushing for 39 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Kingsland put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Lanesboro onto the board and left with a 46-0 win. The result was nothing new for Kingsland, who have now won eight games by 25 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Beau Wiersma, who rushed for 194 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Wiersma was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. Sam Howard got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Houston now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Kingsland, their win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0.

Saturday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Houston has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 210.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kingsland struggles in that department as they've been even better at 327.6 per game. It's looking like Saturday's matchup might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Houston was dealt a bruising 62-20 loss at the hands of Kingsland when the teams last played back in September. Can Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
