Sierra Canyon faced Marymount in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trailblazers fell just short of the Sailors by a score of 2-1. The Trailblazers' loss signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Hanna McGinest paced Sierra Canyon's offense, picking up 12 kills. McGinest got some help from Lucky Fasavalu and her 22 assists. Fasavalu was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Marymount was led to victory by Declan Eastman and Karys Campos. Eastman had nine digs and two aces, while Campos had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces Campos has posted over her last seven matchups. Makenna Barnes also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Sierra Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Marymount, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-2.

Sierra Canyon has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Harvard-Westlake on the 24th. As for Marymount, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Notre Dame Academy on the 23rd.
