Baseball Game Preview: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Libertyville Wildcats

For the second straight game, Lake Forest will face off against Libertyville. The Scouts will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Lake Forest's offense. They came up short against Libertyville on Monday, falling 11-0. The Scouts haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For Libertyville's part, not much got past Josh Holst, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Lake Forest off the board. Holst has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Quinn Schambow was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Chase Lockwood also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Lake Forest's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Libertyville, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Libertyville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
