Basketball Game Recap: Mira Monte Lions vs. Kern Valley Broncs

The Mira Monte Lions were the 71-34 winner over the Kern Valley Broncs when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. Mira Monte took a 61-43 bruising from Kern Valley on Tuesday. Mira Monte's loss keeps them winless this season.

Jessie Bunting had an outrageously good game for Kern Valley as she dropped a double-double on 26 points and 31 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Bushling, who scored 6 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals.

Mira Monte has fallen quite a ways from their 19-7 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Kern Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Mira Monte will be playing at home against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland and Mira Monte are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Kern Valley, they will take on Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothill comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
