Baseball Recap: Northside Triumphs

Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Northside proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Sam Laney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brody Wells was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Reese Adams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Northside's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-7.

Northside will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
