Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Starts Season with Victory at Home

Bloomfield took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Wynot Blue Devils by a score of 51-40. The Bees have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

Bloomfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madyson Mlady out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Mlady, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

Bloomfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenna Oligmueller, who posted 12 points and four steals. Jaylin Geisen was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Bloomfield has already played their next contest, a 62-25 victory against Tri County Northeast on the 5th. As for Wynot, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-19 win against Winside on the 5th.
