Football Recap: Willmar Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mound-Westonka last Friday, Willmar came back down to earth. The Cardinals were dealt a 41-7 loss at the hands of the Marshall Tigers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Willmar now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Marshall, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Willmar will square off against rival Rocori at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Cardinals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Marshall is set to take on their familiar foe Hutchinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
