After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Castle View, Dakota Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Pomona Panthers. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ellie Scheider was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Scheider was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Andrews, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Erin Collins, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Dakota Ridge picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for Pomona, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dakota Ridge will take on D'Evelyn at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 12.4 runs per game this season. As for Pomona, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Green Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
