Baseball Recap: Dacula Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dacula barely beat Collins Hill the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Dacula put the hurt on Collins Hill with a sharp 13-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jared Glenn was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Samuel Zaa looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

Back at the plate, Reiston Durham was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donovan Quary, Jr. ?DJ?, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Dacula kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win (which was Dacula's third in a row) raised their record to 8-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Collins Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Coming up, Dacula will square off against Redan at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Collins Hill, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Central Gwinnett at 5:45 p.m.
