Basketball Recap: Dubois Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Great Commission

DuBois Christian scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Great Commission Bears. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as DuBois Christian came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Great Commission is ranked 589th).

Leading Great Commission to victory were Alexa Hall and Ava Bordack. Hall posted 19 points and three steals, while Bordack went 5 of 9 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hall has scored at least a third of Great Commission's points. Another player making a difference was Bayla Miller, who had ten points.

The defeat snapped DuBois Christian's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record. As for Great Commission, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Johnstown Christian the next time they take the court. Great Commission will host Johnstown Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while DuBois Christian will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
