Baseball Recap: Thomson Bulldogs vs. Swainsboro Tigers

After flying high against Josey last Tuesday, Thomson came back down to earth. The Thomson Bulldogs fell just short of the Swainsboro Tigers by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-2 back in February.

Logan Robinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Ducey, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Thomson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Swainsboro, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Thomson will head out to challenge Laney at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomson is facing Laney at the right time seeing as Laney is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Swainsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Vidalia at 5:45 p.m.
