Soccer Recap: Douglas County Takes a Loss

If Douglas County was riding high fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Westlake last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Douglas County fell just short of the Newnan Cougars by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. Douglas County were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newnan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Douglas County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. Newnan now has a winning record of 6-5.

Douglas County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newnan, they will head out to square off against Northside at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
