Softball Recap: Lambert Comes Up Short

While it was Lambert who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Brookwood who put up more. The Longhorns fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost three in a row.

Lambert saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Yi, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Yi is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Lambert's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Brookwood, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lambert will take on West Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Longhorns their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Brookwood, they will square off against Norcross at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
