Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Comes Up Short

Bloomington Central Catholic hit Cornerstone Christian with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cyclones lost 13-3 to the Saints. The Cyclones haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Josh Kursell and Evan Tom stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kursell went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Tom went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was Tom's first of the season.

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Cornerstone Christian will take on Tremont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, they will challenge Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
