Basketball Recap: West Greene Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

West Greene and Geibel Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but West Greene had to settle for second. They fell 60-48 to the Geibel Catholic Gators. The defeat continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Geibel Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Larkin, who posted 20 points along with seven boards and six assists. Larkin has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Mallory Clemmer was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

West Greene's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Geibel Catholic, they pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither West Greene nor Geibel Catholic have any future games scheduled.
