Basketball Recap: Turlock Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Christiana Eivaz and Claire Betts

Turlock Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 41-34 to the Gustine Reds. The matchup was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but the Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Claire Betts and Christiana Eivaz certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Betts went 8-for-16 to rack up 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Eivaz posted eight points and 11 boards. Betts has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Turlock Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turlock Christian will head out to take on Delta at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gustine, they will take on Orestimba at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
