Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Helix Highlanders
The Olympian Eagles are on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Helix Highlanders at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Olympian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Hilltop on the road to the tune of 67-19. Olympian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by 20 points or more this season.
Asia Darcuiel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with six assists and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Olympian's points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Agpaoa, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Helix waltzed into their contest Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged University City out 45-43.
The win got Olympian back to even at 5-5. As for Helix, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Olympian came up short against Helix when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 59-52. Thankfully for Olympian, Ariy'Ana Duke (who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
