Softball Recap: Washington-Wilkes Comes Up Short

Washington-Wilkes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oglethorpe County Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 12-10 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Kaidyn Porter was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Washington-Wilkes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Oglethorpe County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington-Wilkes will challenge Hart County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oglethorpe County, they will square off against Clarke Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
