Volleyball Recap: Montrose Comes Up Short

Montrose entered their match against Abington Heights on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Meteors lost 3-0 to the Comets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Meteors have suffered since October 25, 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-17.

SADIE JONES paced Montrose's offense, picking up five kills. JONES got some help from GRACIE JONES and her eight assists. Finally, MOLLY WELLER kept Montrose's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Abington Heights, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.

Montrose and Abington Heights should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Meteors will challenge Elk Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (103 vs. 340). Meanwhile, Abington Heights (ranked 11th) will meet Wilkes-Barre (ranked 234th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
