Preview: Harbor Pirates vs. Aptos Mariners
Harbor is 0-10 against Aptos since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harbor Pirates will be playing at home against the Aptos Mariners at 6:00 p.m. Harbor has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
Harbor suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-33 walloping at the hands of Soquel. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Harbor has suffered against Soquel since January 14, 2020.
Gillian Hull was Harbor's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Meanwhile, Aptos suffered a tough 52-32 loss at the hands of Menlo School on Monday. Aptos has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Gabby Wickham and Ruiqi Liu. Liu had a great game and scored 15 points along with three steals. Meanwhile, Wickham did her best for the losing side, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Harbor has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Aptos, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Harbor ended up a good deal behind Aptos when the teams last played back in January of 2023, losing 41-22. Can Harbor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
