Basketball Recap: Linfield Christian Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Linfield Christian challenged Canyon Springs on Tuesday. The Linfield Christian Lions took a 46-31 bruising from the Canyon Springs Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 840th, while the Cougars are ranked 241st).

Kaleayah Marshall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Canyon Springs, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Marshall has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Izabella Tejada was another key player, putting up seven points and 14 rebounds.

Linfield Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Canyon Springs, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Linfield Christian will host Woodcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canyon Springs, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ramona at 11:50 a.m. on December 26th.
