Football Game Preview: Goddard Lions vs. Arkansas City Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Goddard has gone 9-1 against Arkansas City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Goddard has three straight wins, Arkansas City has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Goddard challenged South on Thursday. The Lions came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 34-27.

Erik Olivas and Brock Sullivan were among the main playmakers for Goddard as the former gained 210 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 126 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Olivas also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Lions are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Goddard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 284 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Meanwhile, Arkansas City was beaten by Eisenhower 49-21 on Friday.

Goddard's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Arkansas City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Goddard against Arkansas City in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 43-7 win. In that game, the Lions amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
