Soccer Game Preview: Roybal vs. Mendez

The Roybal Titans will venture away from home to square off against the Mendez Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Roybal will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Mendez heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Roybal took over last week. Roybal had just enough and edged Hollywood out 2-1 on Wednesday. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by just one goal.

Aileen Estrada and Soleiy Estrada scored both of Roybal's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Mendez made sure to put some goals up on the board against Robert F. Kennedy Community on Wednesday. They never let the Bobcats onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

Roybal's record now sits at 10-1-1. As for Mendez, their record is now 10-2-2.

Roybal beat Mendez by a goal in their previous matchup on Monday, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roybal since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
