Middletown is 8-2 against Clear Lake since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. Middletown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Middletown managed to keep up with Lower Lake until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mustangs came up short against the Trojans, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Lower Lake are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Clear Lake kept a clean sheet against Willits on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolverines 1-0. The victory was some much needed relief for Clear Lake as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Clear Lake, their win bumped their record up to 6-8-1.
