Baseball Recap: Paulding County Find Success

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Paulding County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Whitefield Academy WolfPack 6-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Colton White looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hudson McEntyre, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Liam Garrett also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Paulding County's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Whitefield Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.

Coming up, Paulding County will venture away from home to square off against North Paulding at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Whitefield Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
